What is Rockland YogaFest?
Rockland YogaFest is a free, daylong community wellness event that brings together yoga studios, instructors, families and residents from Rockland County and beyond for a day of movement, mindfulness and connection along the Hudson River.
Hosted by Playful Yogi Space, in partnership with District Hot Yoga, Jamie Surya Yoga Studio and Peace in Piermont, YogaFest was created to make yoga and wellness more accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability or previous yoga experience. The festival offers a variety of yoga and mindfulness experiences, including programming for beginners, children and families, while creating opportunities for local studios, wellness practitioners and community members to come together in one shared public space.
Come enjoy a day by the river, explore the host of wellness vendors, move, breathe, chant and learn from the numerous free classes offered by experienced teachers. Bring a picnic or enjoy the unique food trucks! Bring the family and enjoy the day in community!
Why We Launched The Rockland YogaFest
Yoga is for everyone. It is an ancient practice and life philosophy that brings healing and relief for so many conditions, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is more than a physical workout, it is an approach that touches every aspect of our lives, an old friend that is always there to bring us comfort and release and help us put it all in perspective, whatever we are dealing with as humans.
Rockland YogaFest is celebration of the deep tradition of Yoga, the gift bestowed upon the West by the East. It is also an invitation to all, to come and experience it, without barriers. It is a day to open ourselves to something new, or perhaps to return to an old friend. Or it is simply a day to revel in the joy of community!
Any age or level of experience is welcome! We offer classes for all levels, from absolute beginner to deeply seasoned, toddler to elder. There is something for everyone at the Rockland YogaFest!
